Dr. Isabella Garti is a Research Fellow at the Molly Wardaguga Institute for First Nations Birth Rights, Charles Darwin University. With over 15 years of clinical experience in midwifery and nursing, her research focuses on maternal health equity, pre-eclampsia management in LMICs, and culturally safe maternity care. She co-leads the Birthing on Country Toolkit for Australian Aboriginal communities and leads a Gates Foundation-funded digital midwifery education project in Nigeria.
Her research spans pre-eclampsia care in Ghanaian hospitals, digital innovation in midwifery pedagogy, and global health disparities. Recent work includes qualitative studies on spousal caregiving in oncology, multimethod approaches to nursing education in rural Australia, and HPV vaccination acceptance in Ghana.
