Isabel Pinkowski is a Research Fellow and Doctoral Candidate at the Institute of Language and Communication, Department for General Linguistics at Technische Universität Berlin. Her academic roles include Graduate Research Assistant (2021-2023) and Freelance Lecturer (2023-2024) in democracy promotion projects. She holds an M.A. in Cognitive Media Linguistics and a B.A. in Communication & Media/Sociology from the University of Hamburg.
Research focuses on political linguistics, discourse analysis of social cohesion, and digital hate speech. Recent work includes contributions to the Diskursmonitor glossary analyzing terms like 'Kulturmarxismus' and 'Radikalisierung,' and a 2024 article on language and identity in social foundations. She has presented at conferences such as the 2025 Diskursmonitor conference on sea rescue discourse politicization.
Teaching includes courses like 'Multimodal Analysis in Linguistics' (MA, 2024/25) and 'Verbalising Relative Truths' (MA, 2025). She conducted fieldwork in Edinburgh (2022) and organized workshops on antisemitism language analysis in schools.
