Isabel María Aguiló Pons

Dr. Isabel María Aguiló Pons is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of the Balearic Islands. She has maintained continuous employment at the university since 1986 and currently teaches Mathematics II - Calculus across multiple Informatics Engineering programs on Majorca, Ibiza, and Minorca campuses, as well as Optimization courses for Economics students.

Her educational background includes a B.S. in Mathematics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1981) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of the Balearic Islands (2003). She maintains an active teaching schedule spanning from the 2020-21 academic year through the upcoming 2025-26 term.

Dr. Aguiló Pons' research focuses on theoretical aspects of computational intelligence:

• Aggregation operators and their mathematical properties
• Fuzzy connectives in soft computing systems
• Functional equations in mathematical modeling

She is an active member of the SCOPIA (Soft Computing, Image Processing and Aggregation) research group, classified as a Consolidated R+D+I Group at the university.
