Isabel Machado Alexandre

Isabel Machado Alexandre is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where she also serves as Coordinator of the Information Technology Group and as an Integrated Researcher at the Institute of Telecommunications - IUL. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Computing from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Informatics Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute - UTL.

Her research spans artificial intelligence, user experience, information visualization, and digital inclusion, with a strong focus on ethical AI, dementia care, and educational technologies. She teaches courses such as Symbolic Artificial Intelligence for Data Science, User Experience and Information Visualization, and Knowledge and Reasoning in Artificial Intelligence.
