معرفی
Joaquim Reis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology at ISCTE-IUL, and an Integrated Researcher at the ISTAR-IUL Research Center, specializing in Computational Modeling of Systems.
Education:
- PhD in Information Sciences and Technologies (2002) – ISCTE-IUL
- Master's in Mechanical Engineering (1992) – Instituto Superior Técnico, UTL
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (1980) – Instituto Superior Técnico, UTL
Research Interests:
His work focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Computational Creativity, and Shape Grammars, with applications in architectural design and intelligent systems. He explores how rule-based systems can enhance creativity in design, particularly through the use of multi-agent systems and formal grammars.
Publications Overview:
Reis has published extensively in shape grammars, computational creativity, and AI-driven design tools. His recent work (2019–2023) includes algorithmic approaches to shape recognition and creativity support systems, while earlier contributions (2000–2016) focused on multi-agent scheduling and visual composition.
Labs & Teams:
He is affiliated with the ISTAR-IUL Research Center and is a member of APPIA (Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence).
Teaching & Guidance:
He teaches Computational Creativity at the master's level and Creativity and Creative Computing at the doctoral level, among other AI and intelligent systems courses.
