Isaac Lera Castro

Dr. Isaac Lera Castro is a Full Professor (Catedrático) at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) since 2021, with a PhD in Computer Science (2012) and Computer Science Engineering degree (2006) from the same institution. He teaches core and elective subjects including Computer Architecture, Cloud Computing, and Data Processing at undergraduate and graduate levels.

• Deputy Director of LAIA (Artificial Intelligence Applications Laboratory)
• Former co-director of the Master's Degree in Big Data Analysis in Economics and Business (MADM) 2018-2021

His research focuses on computer systems performance, cloud computing, and edge computing through semantic web applications and IoT simulation tools. The work includes availability-aware fog service placement and YAFS simulator development for IoT scenarios.

He is actively involved in R&D&I groups:
