Isaac L. Howard

Isaac L. Howard is Professor, James T. White Endowed Chair, and Director at Mississippi State University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas, MS from West Virginia University, and BS from Arkansas State University.

His research focuses on construction materials characterization, infrastructure systems, and pavement engineering with specialization in airfield/highway asphalt pavements and advanced materials like composites and high-performance concrete. Professor Howard teaches courses in material characterization, construction materials, and paving materials.

Service contributions include workforce development initiatives, professional promotion in civil engineering, and active membership in the Transportation Research Board and American Society of Civil Engineers where he holds Fellow status.
