Isaac Duncan-Cross is a Research Student at the School of Psychology, University of Sussex. He holds a BSc in Psychology (First Class Honours) from the University of Manchester (2018–2021). His current PhD focuses on self-regulation and support-seeking behaviors in older adults with dementia as part of the DETERMIND research project, supervised by Dr. Eleanor Miles and Dr. Ben Hicks. He also serves as a Doctoral Tutor (2022–2024), teaching seminars on 'Individuals and Groups,' 'Sensation and Perception,' and assisting with data analysis workshops.
His research interests span visual perception (e.g., mental rotation, motion perception, Uncanny Valley) and clinical populations, particularly neurodegenerative conditions like dementia. Earlier roles include Research Assistant positions at Abertay University (2021–2022) and the University of Manchester (2021), focusing on Parkinson’s Disease visual perception and expanding his undergraduate research. He is passionate about enhancing healthcare accessibility and equality for aging populations.
His sole listed publication (2024) in the JPO Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics explores hand perception and mental rotation, co-authored with Kyberd and Poliakoff.
