Irving Goh is currently President’s Assistant Professor of Literature at the National University of Singapore. He previously served as Franke Visiting Faculty Fellow at Yale University (2018) and held a Royal Society/British Academy Newton International Fellowship at the University of Cambridge (2015-17). His research focuses on deconstruction, French philosophy, and intersections between literature, religion, and politics.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, Cornell University
Research Interests: Goh’s work bridges literary theory, continental philosophy, and critical religious studies. Key themes include the deconstruction of subjectivity, prepositional existence, and the ethics of touch in literature. His interdisciplinary approach engages thinkers like Jean-Luc Nancy and explores post-secular frameworks.

- Recipient of the MLA Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize (2015) for The Reject: Community, Politics, and Religion after the Subject
