Dr. Iris Häußermann is a Scientific Associate and Doctoral student at the University of Hohenheim's Institute of Animal Sciences, Department of Population Genomics in Farm Animals. She holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Biology (Agricultural Biotechnology) from the University of Hohenheim, following vocational training as a Biotechnology Assistant (BTA) and prior work as a Research Associate at the University of Tübingen's ZMBP.
Her research focuses on morphological-molecular identification of invasive beetles in global trade packaging wood through the PHID-Coleo project, a collaboration with the LTZ Augustenberg's Plant Health Unit. This project investigates the European invasion history and genetic relationships of the Asian longhorn beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis) using population genomics.
