Irina Zherebkina

Irina Zherebkina is a Professor at the Center of Humanitarian Education, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and currently holds a British Academy Researcher at Risk Fellowship at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Department of Gender Studies. She is Director of the Kharkiv Center for Gender Studies and Editor-in-Chief of the Gender Studies Journal. Her work critiques Putin's militarism and explores feminist ethics in conflict contexts, particularly Ukraine.

Expertise focuses on women’s subjectivity, East-European modernism, anti/violence frameworks, and militarism. She is a transnational peace activist and Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE, contributing to the AHRC Network addressing 'Anti-Gender' movements.

Key awards include the British Academy Fellowship (2023), supporting her 24-month research project on non-violence ethics during wartime. She has advised on international networks and published extensively on post-Soviet feminist critiques.
