Research Focus
Ruvinsky explores the intersection of philosophy and literature, with a particular emphasis on memory, exile, and the German concept of heimat. Her research examines how displacement shapes individual and collective identity, drawing on thinkers like Marcel Proust and German Romantics (Novalis, L. Tieck, E.T.A. Hoffmann) to analyze the tension between idealism and reality in art and human experience.
Teaching Philosophy
She emphasizes critical thinking, persuasive writing, and interdisciplinary engagement. Courses include Russian Short Stories, Romantic Fairy Tales, and Philosophy of Memory, where students analyze texts through historical, aesthetic, and sociopolitical lenses.
Honors & Fellowships
