Irina Gott is a Teaching Professor at Northeastern University School of Law, specializing in the Legal Skills in Social Context (LSSC) program. She joined Northeastern in 2022 with over 12 years of legal teaching experience. Previously, she was a faculty member at Roger Williams University School of Law, where she developed a course on Wrongful Convictions and served as co-advisor to the Roger Williams University Law Review. Before academia, Gott practiced as a litigator for over a decade, focusing on commercial, employment, and probate litigation, and represented clients in political asylum cases pro bono.
She holds a BA in English from the University of Connecticut (1996) and a JD from Suffolk University Law School (2001), where she was the associate managing editor of the Suffolk University Law Review. Her expertise spans legal research, writing, and advocacy, with a commitment to social justice and legal education.
Gott’s background as a first-generation college and law graduate informs her teaching philosophy, emphasizing accessibility and practical skills. She has contributed to interdisciplinary legal education and advocacy training, particularly in wrongful conviction reform and pro bono initiatives.
