Dr. Irina Chis Ster is Senior Lecturer in Medical Statistics at St George’s, University of London, with expertise in study design and analysis of complex clinical and epidemiological data. She holds a PhD in Pure Mathematics and MSc in Medical Statistics from LSHTM.
Her research spans statistical methodologies for infectious disease seroprevalence (dengue/chikungunya), asthma epidemiology in Latin America, and cardiovascular sudden death populations. She leads statistical design for multinational trials including a £7M NIHR Global Health project across UK-Brazil-Ecuador.
She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in statistical epidemiology, longitudinal analysis, and Bayesian methods. As honorary faculty at Universidad Internacional del Ecuador, she develops statistical strategies for international projects.
Key collaborations include Prof. Phil Cooper (asthma epidemiology), Prof. Debasish Banerjee (renal-cardiology trials), and Prof. Elijah Behr (sudden death studies).
