Dr. Irene Calà is a Researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and Ulm Universität, specializing in ancient medicine and Byzantine philology. Her work focuses on the textual transmission of medical works from Late Antiquity, particularly Aetius of Amida’s Libri medicinales. She holds a PhD from Università di Bologna and has held postdoctoral positions at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the Max Planck Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte.
