Iordan Barbulescu

Professor Iordan Gheorghe Barbulescu is a scholar at the National School of Political Studies and Administration (SNSPA) in Bucharest, where he serves as Dean of the Department of International Relations and European Studies and President of the University Senate since 2012. He also leads the Romanian Association for International Relations and European Studies. Holding a PhD from the University of the Basque Country, Barbulescu combines academic expertise with diplomatic experience, having worked in Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997–2003) during EU accession negotiations. His contributions to Romania's foreign policy earned him the National Order of Faithful Service in 2002.

Research Interests: Barbulescu's work focuses on EU institutions, policy-making frameworks, and strategic communication within European governance. His academic activities align with Romania's integration into European structures and institutional diplomacy.

Teaching: He currently instructs graduate courses on EU institutions, policy-making processes, and strategic communication for professionals preparing Romania's 2019 EU Council presidency.
