Iordan Barbulescu

Professor Iordan Barbulescu serves as Dean of the Department of International Relations and European Studies at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA) in Bucharest and has been President of its Senate since 2012. He concurrently leads the Romanian Association for International Relations and European Studies. Formerly a diplomat in Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-2003), he played a key role in EU accession negotiations and was honored for his contributions to Romanian foreign policy.

Education includes a PhD from the University of the Basque Country and studies at the University of Bucharest. His teaching focuses on EU institutions, policy-making, and strategic communication, including courses like 'Decision and Common Policies for EU Communication Professionals' and preparation for Romania's 2019 EU Council Presidency.

Notable awards include the European Citizen's Prize (2016) and recognition for advancing European integration. His career bridges academic leadership, diplomatic service, and policy advocacy.
