Ion Culeac is an Associate Professor and Leading Scientific Researcher at the Laboratory of Optoelectronics 'Andrei Andriesh' within the Institute of Applied Physics, University of Moldova. His work focuses on optoelectronics, semiconductor materials, photoluminescence, and luminescent nanocomposites. He holds a Ph.D. and has been actively involved in research projects funded by national and international programs, including ANCD and FP7/H2020 initiatives.
Research interests emphasize coordination compounds, polymer-based nanomaterials, and optical sensors. Recent studies include europium-doped materials, quantum dots, and fiber-optic security systems. Over 40 publications since 2009 showcase contributions to luminescent materials' synthesis, characterization, and optoelectronic applications.
Key projects involve developing luminophore composites, semiconductor thin films, and energy-efficient materials. His lab collaborates internationally on EU-funded projects like H2020-MSCA-RISE and NATO programs.
