Ioannis Xenakis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering (DPSD), University of the Aegean, specializing in the intersection of aesthetics, cognitive psychology, and design. He holds a PhD (2013) and M.Sc. (2007) from the University of the Aegean, and B.A. (2004) in painting and B.S. (1998) in Printing Technology. His research focuses on aesthetic perception, emotional design, and complex systems, with 15 peer-reviewed articles in Q1/Q2 journals and editorial roles in three journals. He is a practicing visual artist with 12 exhibitions, including five solo shows. His work bridges art, science, and design through theories of embodied cognition and enactivism.
