Ioannis (Yannis) Evrigenis is the Alice Tweed Tuohy Professor of Government and Ethics at Claremont McKenna College. His research focuses on foundational concepts in the history of political thought, including natural law, rights, sovereignty, and the intersection of rhetoric and psychology in early modern political philosophy. He has written extensively on Thomas Hobbes, Jean Bodin, and Johann Gottfried Herder.

Research Interests: Evrigenis explores the rhetorical and scientific dimensions of political concepts like anarchy and fear in historical contexts, particularly their role in shaping collective action and theories of the state. His current projects include a new translation of Jean Bodin's Six Books on the Commonwealth.

- RSA/TCP Article Prize for Digital Renaissance Research
Grants & Fellowships: He has received support from organizations including Fulbright, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Philosophical Society, and the Onassis Foundation. He also earned five Certificates of Distinction in Teaching from Harvard University's Derek Bok Center.
