Ioana NICOLAE

Ioana NICOLAE is a Professor and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law at Transilvania University of Brașov. She holds a Doctorate in Law from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (2007) and a Bachelor of Laws from the same institution (2000). Her professional roles include academic staff member since 2001, university professor since 2015, and vice-dean since 2016. She is also a member of the Brasov Bar Association since 2000, and actively contributes to academic publishing through roles on editorial boards of journals like the Journal of Politics and Law (Canada) and the Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Brasov.

Her research focuses on civil law, inheritance law, family law, and private international law. Notable publications include Civil Law Fact Sheets (multiple editions, co-authored), Legal and Testamentary Devolution of Inheritance (2016), and Family Law in the National Context and in Private International Law Relations (2014). Her recent work explores topics like digital judicial cooperation, succession option validity, and guardianship measures for adults.

Ioana is affiliated with the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and the Romanian Society of European Law, reflecting her engagement with legal education standards and EU legal frameworks. Her publications emphasize practical legal guidance and theoretical analysis of inheritance rights, parental authority, and cross-border legal processes.
