Ioana Anca Gabriela Bodea

Ioana Anca Gabriela Bodea is a University Lecturer in the Painting Department at the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca. With a PhD in Visual Arts earned with distinction Magna Cum Laude, she has established herself as a prominent figure in contemporary Romanian art.

Bodea's research interests focus on contemporary art, painting, visual arts, interior design, fine arts, art theory, and graphic arts. Her work explores the relationship between interior spaces and human proximity, as evidenced by her doctoral thesis "Interior and proximity in contemporary art." She has developed a distinctive approach that bridges traditional painting techniques with contemporary conceptual frameworks.

Her extensive exhibition history demonstrates her engagement with both national and international art scenes. Bodea has participated in numerous personal and group exhibitions across Romania, Europe, and North America. Her work has been featured in prestigious venues including the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum, 418 Gallery in Bucharest, and international exhibitions in Berlin, Munich, and New York.

Bodea is actively involved in mentoring students and coordinating cultural projects. She has served as coordinator for student projects such as Posthibrys and Art Talk, and has led cultural initiatives through the Hassium association. Her work extends beyond traditional academic boundaries into business incubation for visual arts through the FDI: Incubator of business ideas in the field of visual arts and creative cultural industries.

Her artistic works are held in private collections across Canada, Germany, Italy, and Romania, as well as in the US Embassy art collection, the Romanian Academy collection in Rome, and the Portuguese Institute San Antonio collection in Rome.
