Dr. Inês Farinha Antunes is a Researcher in the Department of Radiology, Nuclear Medicine & Medical Imaging at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Medical Sciences. Her work focuses on radiopharmacy, PET tracer development, and oncology imaging, with particular emphasis on tumor-associated macrophages and immunotherapy monitoring. She has contributed to advancements in radiotracer synthesis, pretargeted imaging systems, and organoid models for drug screening.
Key research interests include radiochemistry processes, preclinical evaluation of novel radiopharmaceuticals, and clinical applications of PET imaging in cancer and endocrine disorders. Antunes has published extensively on topics like P-gp function measurement, CD163-positive macrophage imaging, and FDG uptake mechanisms in diabetes.
Her collaborative projects include a KWF-funded study on immune checkpoint inhibitors and contributions to patents on 6-l-[18F]FDOPA synthesis. Despite no listed awards, her work demonstrates significant impact in translational nuclear medicine and radiopharmacy.
