Inke Forbrich is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Toledo. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Greifswald (Germany) in Botany and Landscape Ecology (2011) and an M.Sc. from the University of Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) in Geography (2005).
Dr. Forbrich's primary research focuses on wetland and ecosystem ecology, particularly the exchange of trace gases (water, carbon dioxide, methane) between ecosystems and the atmosphere. Her work emphasizes the coupling between water and carbon cycles in wetland environments. She employs chamber and eddy covariance measurements, remote sensing, and GIS applications to investigate these complex ecological processes.
Her research contributes significantly to understanding how wetlands function within the global carbon cycle and respond to environmental changes. Based in Wolfe Hall, Suite 1235 at the University of Toledo, her work has implications for climate change research and wetland conservation strategies.
