Ingvill Fossheim

Ingvill Fossheim is a Researcher affiliated with the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University. Her work focuses on experimental costume design using natural colorants and biofabricated materials to explore sustainable aesthetics and ecological values beyond live performance contexts. She is part of the BioColour research project funded by the Academy of Finland, and collaborates with Costume in Focus and Fashion/Textile Futures research groups.

Her research emphasizes biocostume as a medium for environmental storytelling, combining material innovation with systems thinking. Recent works explore relationships between costume design and place through projects like Embodying Homescapes, while exhibitions and performances demonstrate her commitment to regenerative design practices.

Active in both academic and public spheres, she organized the Performing Dress Lab workshop (2025) and contributed to MA student mentorship at Uniarts Theatre Academy (2024-2025).
