Ingvild Elisabeth Winsnes

Ingvild Elisabeth Winsnes is a PhD candidate (Research Fellow) at the Department of Linguistics and Nordic Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Oslo. Her research focuses on primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and conversation, specifically investigating interventions such as discourse therapy and 'The Better Conversation with Primary Progressive Aphasia' program, while employing conversation analysis to study everyday interactions of individuals with PPA and their communication partners.

She holds a Master in Special Education with specialization in speech therapy from the University of Oslo (2012-2014). Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a speech therapist and senior advisor at Statped's Aphasia Team (2018-2022) and as a speech therapist and research assistant at Sunnaas Hospital HF (2014-2018).

Winsnes' research bridges clinical linguistics and speech therapy, with core interests in PPA, dementia, aphasia, and conversation analysis. Her work applies linguistic theory to develop practical communication interventions for neurodegenerative language disorders through meticulous examination of conversational dynamics in real-world settings.

Her publication record reveals strong international collaboration trends, with recent high-impact studies focusing on standardized outcome measures for PPA interventions, global management perspectives, and bilingual considerations in speech-language pathology.
