Ingrid Neuman is the first full-time Museum Conservator of Sculpture at the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), a position she has held since 2007. She concurrently serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Tufts University's Graduate School of Museum Studies since 2003. Previously, she held roles at the Smithsonian Institution (1987–1992), the Williamstown Art Conservation Center (1992–1996), and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (2001–2007). She also maintained a private conservation practice in New England.
Education: BA from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and MA in Art Conservation from SUNY Buffalo (1987). Completed an Advanced Internship in 3D conservation at the Smithsonian's Conservation Analytical Laboratory and National Museum of Natural History (1987–1988).
Research focuses on three-dimensional art conservation and preservation of polymer-based sculptures. At RISD, she teaches The Art of Art Conservation and earned a Teaching Certificate from Brown University (2010).
