Ingrid Helene Brandt is a Research Fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen, under the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her work bridges democratic theory with contemporary ecological challenges, focusing on how human and non-human actors reshape democratic participation in the Anthropocene.
- Key affiliations: Democratic Innovations in a Green Transition (DIGT) initiative
- Collaborator: Professor Lars Tønder
Her research combines affect theory and new materialism to develop pluralistic frameworks for ecological crisis response. Recent publications analyze climate citizens' assemblies, temporal challenges in democratic processes, and material agency in political systems. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals, policy reports, and edited volumes on these topics.
Brandt's work appears in The Anthropocene Review, Sustainability: Science, Practice, and Policy, and other venues focused on climate governance and political innovation. She has also published blog commentary on democratic time constraints and civil society engagement.
