Ingolfur Blühdorn is a Professor of Social Sustainability and Director of the Institute for Social Change and Sustainability (IGN) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His work focuses on socio-ecological transformation, modernity critiques, and democratic theory. Recent publications include Unsustainability (2024), diagnosing systemic crises in late modernity, and Simulative Democracy (2013), analyzing post-democratic governance structures. His research bridges political economy, environmental policy, and social theory.
Blühdorn's current projects examine the intersection of ecological crises and democratic legitimacy. He frequently presents at academic colloquia, including a notable 2024 book presentation at the ISW.
