Ingeborg Trul-Kreuze

Ingeborg Trul-Kreuze serves as a Researcher at Hanze University of Applied Sciences within the Allied Health Care and Nursing Centre of Expertise Healthy Ageing. Holding an MSc. degree, she leads the multi-year LIFT (LIfelong Fitness Testing) PhD research project investigating the Steep Ramp Test for Dutch adult and elderly populations.

Her research centers on cardiorespiratory fitness assessment methodologies in aging populations, with specialized focus on:

• Clinimetric validation of exercise tests
• Physiological response patterns during fitness testing
• Frailty assessment and adequate care interventions
• Age- and sex-specific normative values development

Her 2024 scoping review synthesizes global evidence on the Steep Ramp Test's validity and applications, establishing foundational knowledge for clinical implementation in elderly care settings. This work demonstrates consistent emphasis on translating exercise physiology research into practical healthcare solutions for aging societies.

As Principal Investigator of the LIFT project (2021-2025), she directs comprehensive research examining test validity, reproducibility, and physiological mechanisms across demographic variables. Her collaborative approach involves interdisciplinary teams addressing real-world challenges in geriatric fitness assessment.
