Inga Heyman

Prof Inga Heyman is an Associate Professor at the Edinburgh Napier University School of Health and Social Care, with extensive contributions to policing-public health intersections. Her career spans PhD in Mental Health Nursing, Masters in Nurse Led Practice, and Pg.Cert in Higher Education.

• Current research focuses on neurodiversity in criminal justice, naloxone training for police, and interprofessional education
• Key projects include Scottish Government-funded Naloxone Pilot Evaluation (£80,769) and Law Enforcement & Public Health Risk Assessment initiatives

Her 2025 publications examine opioid overdose response systems and neurodivergent policing experiences, while 2024 works address stigma reduction in drug-related policing. She supervises PhD researchers in collaborative practice models and mental health crisis response.
