Dr. Inga Bartusevičienė is an Associate Professor specializing in Maritime Education and Training at the World Maritime University in Sweden. She holds a PhD in Education Sciences from Klaipeda University, an MSc in Maritime Affairs from WMU, an MSc in Mathematics from Vilnius University, and a BSc in Management from Kaliningrad State Technical University. With over two decades of academic experience, her research focuses on educational effectiveness and pedagogical innovations in maritime contexts.
Her research interests center on improving learning outcomes through technological and methodological innovations, with specific expertise in simulator-based training, sustainable transport development, and seafarer well-being. Key areas include inland waterway transport optimization, digital education readiness, and pandemic impacts on maritime workforce mental health.
Recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on sustainable transport solutions (50% of last 15 articles) and crew welfare (30%), with emerging work on Generation Z pedagogy. Research methodologies combine qualitative analyses, policy reviews, and case studies across global maritime contexts.
Dr. Bartusevičienė led the modernization of the Lithuanian Maritime Academy through 20+ EU-funded projects, establishing 12 simulator systems including navigation, engine, and cargo handling simulations. She created the Knowledge and e-Services Centre to support distance learning and oversaw curriculum development across multiple maritime disciplines.
