Dr. Indumathi Jeyachandran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at San José State University. A Certified Mapping Scientist and LEED Accredited Professional, her research employs remote sensing and GIS for sustainable urban infrastructure planning.
Research focuses on:
- Urban heat island mitigation strategies
- Land use change impacts on energy demand
- Wildfire risk assessment using Landsat data
- Microclimate modeling with LIDAR integration
Her publications address urban canopy parameter estimation, dam safety under climate change, and green infrastructure impacts. Current work analyzes wildfire risks in California using Landsat 8 data.
Awards include the Green Talents award from Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research for sustainable development research.
Teaching includes Geographical Information Systems and Hydrology courses, with workshops on LiDAR processing and water resource analysis.
