Inamul Kabir is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with the Greif Lab. He holds a PhD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center (2016), an MS from University of Dhaka (2011), and a BSc from University of Dhaka (2010).
His research focuses on vascular biology, lipid metabolism, and the cellular mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis, fibrosis, and metabolic disorders. Key areas include investigating smooth muscle cell behavior in plaques, hepatocyte dynamics during liver regeneration, and the impact of aging on vascular pathologies.
Recent work highlights novel insights into bone marrow-derived cell contributions to atherosclerosis (Nature Aging, 2023) and redifferentiation processes in lung fibroblasts (Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2024). His studies often integrate molecular biology, advanced imaging, and systems biology approaches.
- Awards:
- AHA Career Development Award (2022-2025)
- AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship (2018-2020)
He collaborates with leaders in vascular biology, including Prof. Daniel Greif and Carlos Fernandez-Hernando. His lab explores translational strategies targeting dyslipidemia, obesity, and fibrotic diseases.
