Dr. Ina Park is a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She serves as the Medical Director for the California Prevention Training Center and is the site Principal Investigator for the multicenter CDC-funded HPV-Impact project. Nationally, she acts as a medical consultant to the CDC Division of STD Prevention and co-authored the 2020 CDC STI Treatment Guidelines. She also served on the committee for the HHS's first Federal STI Action Plan and completed a two-year term with the Planned Parenthood Foundation of America National Medical Committee.
Dr. Park's educational background includes:

- Medical Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine (2001)

Dr. Park's research focuses on sexually transmitted infections (STIs), human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination impact, and cervical cancer prevention. Her work spans epidemiology, clinical diagnostics, public health interventions, and medical education related to STIs. She has been instrumental in monitoring the population-level effects of HPV vaccination through the CDC-funded HPV-Impact project. Her research also addresses healthcare access barriers for STI treatment, particularly among vulnerable populations, and she has conducted extensive work on syphilis diagnostics and congenital syphilis prevention.
Dr. Park's publication record demonstrates her leadership in STI research, with recent work focusing on HPV vaccination impact, cervical precancer trends, STI screening implementation, and innovative approaches to STI diagnostics and prevention. As Medical Director of the California Prevention Training Center, Dr. Park leads a team focused on STI prevention education and training for healthcare providers across California. She has also established innovative programs such as a 24/7 congenital syphilis hotline for California clinicians. Her work extends beyond traditional research through her public engagement efforts, including her book "Strange Bedfellows: Adventures in the Science, History, and Surprising Secrets of STIs" (Macmillan, 2021), which aims to reduce stigma around STIs through storytelling and public education.
