Ina Dobrinski is a Professor in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, with a focus on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She is affiliated with the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute as a Child Health & Wellness Researcher.
- Doctor of Philosophy in Reproductive Biology, Cornell University (1997)
- Dr.vet.med. in Veterinary Medicine, Hannover College of Vet Medicine (1989)
- Graduate Veterinarian in Veterinary Science, Hannover College of Vet Medicine (1987)
- Master of Veterinary Science, University of Saskatchewan (1993)
Her research centers on male germline stem cells, transgenic animal models, and testicular organoids. Key areas include stem cell regulation, metabolic microenvironments, and applications in reproductive biology and biotechnology. She leads projects related to the Child Health and Wellness initiative (2020-2025) and Engineering Solutions for Health (2015-2021).
The 15 most recent publications highlight her work on testicular organoids (2025-2019), spermatogonial stem cell regulation (2025-2018), gene editing in pigs (2023-2018), and metabolic transitions during germ cell development (2023-2021). Her studies span molecular mechanisms, toxicology, and 3D culture systems.
