معرفی
In-Jung Kim is an Associate Professor in Ophthalmology and Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on retinal development, visual circuitry, and neural mechanisms underlying fear-related behaviors. She employs mouse genetics, optogenetics, and advanced imaging techniques. Key affiliations include the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program and the Wu Tsai Institute. Her work has been supported by grants from the NIH, Whitehall Foundation, and E. Matilda Ziegler Foundation.
Education: PhD from State University of New York at Buffalo (2003), Postdoctoral training at Harvard University and Washington University in St. Louis.
Research Interests: Retinal ganglion cell development, optic nerve regeneration, and fear circuitry in the midbrain. Her lab explores how specific retinal neurons regulate defensive responses to visual threats, with recent breakthroughs in identifying molecular regulators of neural repair.
Notable Awards: NIH Pathway to Independence Award (2010), Whitehall Foundation Grant (2014), and E. Matilda Ziegler Foundation Grant (2015).
Lab Location: 300 George Street, Ste 8300, New Haven, CT. Active collaborations include work with Jonathan Demb, Pouyan Rahmani, and Stephen Strittmatter.
