Dr. Imose Itua is an Assistant Professor and Programme Lead for the BSc Public Health and Community Wellbeing at the University of Bradford. She holds dual fellowships from the Royal Society for Public Health UK and the Advanced Higher Education Academy. Her roles extend to teaching leadership in family planning via the Natural Family Planning Teachers Association and NHS clinical involvement with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. She sits on Bradford’s ethics committee and programme review panels, and serves as a PhD examiner and independent chair.
Education: PhD in Medicine (Cardiovascular Science) from the University of Manchester (2003). Her research focuses on cardiovascular health, fertility in minority groups, dementia, and interprofessional education. She leads the Centre for Applied Dementia Studies’ social prescribing initiatives and studies fertility choices in marginalized populations. Teaching spans modules like Project Management, Public Health Research Methods, and Interprofessional Education.
Awards include Royal Society for Public Health Fellowship and Senior Higher Education Academy Fellowship. Her work bridges academic research with clinical practice, emphasizing healthcare innovation post-pandemic and equity in family planning access.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the Centre for Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE) and leads the University’s social prescribing collaborative practice research group.
