Imogen Hensler is a Research Assistant at Queen Mary University of London's Centre for Psychiatry and Mental Health (Youth Resilience Unit), affiliated with the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. She holds a BSc and MRes in Anthropology from University College London (UCL). Her work focuses on biosocial and mixed-method research in mental health, sociological mechanisms, and policy implementation to address health inequalities. She is part of the ESRC/AHRC-funded Adolescent Sociality Across Cultures research group.
- Current role: DEER study (Barts Charity-funded) investigating resilience in East London children aged 7-10.
- Prior projects include 'Body Positivity' and LGBTQ+ school climate studies in Surrey schools, addressing Ofsted reports on sexual abuse.
- Co-author of a systematic review on adolescence in evolutionary social sciences.
Her research interests span mental health outcomes, gender studies, participatory methods, and policy-driven interventions. She is currently submitting a study on femininity and well-being among UK girls.
