معرفی
Imme Benedict is a Lecturer and researcher at the Meteorology and Air Quality department of Wageningen University & Research. Her work focuses on hydrometeorology, particularly the atmospheric water balance and climate change impacts. She develops and uses moisture tracking tools like WAM-2layers to study precipitation sources and transport pathways. Her research includes analyzing global climate models at kilometer-scale resolutions (via the nextGEMS project) to understand future water cycle changes. She coordinates BSc courses in Meteorology & Climate and Atmospheric Practical within the Soil, Water, Atmosphere program, and contributes to MSc courses in Atmospheric Dynamics and Research Practices.
Her research interests span extreme weather events, climate model validation, land-atmosphere interactions, and the implications of tree cover changes on hydrology. She actively collaborates on projects addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation, with a focus on improving climate modeling techniques. Her recent work emphasizes reproducible methodologies and FAIR data practices in moisture tracking studies.
Notable projects include advancing WAM2layers as an open-source tool and investigating atmospheric rivers' role in polar climate dynamics. While no scientific awards are listed, her contributions to climate science education and interdisciplinary research are evident through her teaching roles and collaborative efforts.
