Ilka Quindeau

Prof. Dr. Ilka Quindeau is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Faculty 4: Social Work & Health) since 2004. She holds a Privatdozentur at Goethe University Frankfurt (since 2012) and is a certified psychoanalyst with the German Psychoanalytic Association (DPV). Her research focuses on clinical psychology, psychoanalysis, trauma studies, memory culture, and gender studies, with a specialization in the intersection of trauma, memory, and aging. She leads the TIA research project on trauma in old age and has authored/co-authored books such as *Trauma und Geschichte* (1995) and *Verführung und Begehren* (2008). Her current work examines sexuality in elderly care, Nazi-era trauma, and queer perspectives in psychoanalysis.

Research Interests: Her work explores psychoanalytic theory, autobiographical memory, trauma (especially Holocaust-related), sexuality, and gender construction. She has pioneered studies on transgenerational trauma and sexual rights in elderly care facilities.

• TIA: Investigates long-term effects of WWII/Nazi-era trauma on aging populations.
• SexuAl: Examines gender-sensitive approaches to sexuality in elderly care.

Awards: Wolfgang-Loch-Preis (2005) for groundbreaking work on memory in psychoanalysis.

Teaching: Offers courses on clinical psychology, trauma processing, and ethics in social work. Currently on leave until 2023 but supervises dissertations by request.
