Dr. Iliya Komarev is an Associate Professor at MBS, serving as Director of the Grande École Program since September 2023 and Director of the Bachelor Program from 2021 to 2023. He holds a PhD in Management Control and Internal Auditing from the University of Bordeaux and has taught at institutions including EDHEC Business School and EM Lyon in Casablanca. His research focuses on Accounting, Audit, Corporate Finance, Game Theory, Taxation, and CSR.
His work spans topics such as audit market regulation, private equity impacts, GCC accounting frameworks, and corporate governance. Key contributions include studies on credit rating quality under Dodd-Frank, MENA banking capital structures, and ethical education in accounting. He has advised students in research projects at Abu Dhabi University and contributed to curriculum design for GCC-relevant competencies.
His publications reflect a blend of theoretical and applied research, addressing global and regional challenges in accounting, finance, and regulation.
