Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscienceمعرفی
Ilika Ghosh serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI), focusing on the intersection of synaptic plasticity and cellular energy dynamics. Her research examines how neuronal structures adapt to meet metabolic demands during plasticity events.
Her primary research interests center on synaptic plasticity mechanisms, with specific expertise in mitochondrial dynamics at synapses, neuronal energy metabolism, and the role of non-coding RNA in structural plasticity. Current work investigates how mitochondria reposition near active synapses to supply ATP for sustained plasticity, and how RNA molecules like SLAMR regulate local protein synthesis.
Recent publications reveal a consistent focus on energy-metabolism-plasticity coupling, demonstrating that synapses actively recruit mitochondria for localized ATP production and identifying RNA-mediated pathways controlling structural changes. This work spans molecular, cellular, and systems neuroscience approaches.
Ghosh collaborates extensively with leading neuroscience laboratories, as evidenced by co-authorship on high-impact publications in bioRxiv and Nature Communications. Her work receives significant attention in the neuroscience community for elucidating fundamental mechanisms of neuronal adaptation.
