Ilana Offenberger serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the History Department at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth within the College of Arts & Sciences. She specializes in Holocaust studies with particular expertise in Jewish history during the Nazi era, focusing on Vienna and Czech communities under occupation.
Her research interests encompass Holocaust studies, Jewish history, 20th Century European history, Nazi Germany, and Jewish resistance movements. Professor Offenberger's work examines both the destruction of Jewish communities and the various forms of resistance and preservation efforts undertaken during the Holocaust period.
Her scholarly contributions demonstrate a clear trajectory focusing on Central European Jewish experiences during the Nazi era, with particular attention to documentation and preservation efforts as forms of resistance.
