Ihsen Alouani is a Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast's School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His research focuses on trustworthy intelligent systems, emphasizing machine learning security, user data privacy, fairness, and environmental impact. He actively supervises PhD students and leads projects like TR1419ECS (Trustworthy Distributed Brain-inspired Systems) and TR1272ECS (TruDetect).
Key research areas include adversarial machine learning, hardware security, neuromorphic systems, and approximate computing. Notable contributions include defensive approximation techniques, entropy-based adversarial patch removal, and voltage-scaling for security enhancement.
