Ihor Kadenko

Ihor Kadenko serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv since 2000, while leading the research group 'Nuclear Physics of low and high energies with Nuclear Power applications.' His academic journey includes positions at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna and progressive roles within the university's physics department.

His educational background features a Master's degree (1979-1984) and Postgraduate Studies (1986-1989) in Nuclear Physics and Engineering from Kiev State University, followed by a Ph.D. (1991) and Doctor of Phys.-Math. Sciences degree (2006) from Kyiv Institute for Nuclear Research. His academic promotion to Professor was conferred in 2006 by Taras Shevchenko National University.

Kadenko's research revolutionized nuclear physics through the discovery of bound dineutron systems, previously considered non-existent. His group's work since 2015 focuses on low-energy nuclear phenomena, with two landmark publications proving dineutron-bound systems. Current research targets room-temperature nuclear fusion of heavy and light nuclei, alongside experimental validation of complex multi-nucleon bound systems. His expertise spans nuclear cross-sections, deep inelastic scattering, and theoretical model testing.

As a scientific expert for Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science and reviewer for Scopus journals including 'Nuclear Physics A,' he contributes to national science policy. His methodological expertise encompasses neutrino physics, nuclear power safety, radiation material strength, medical isotope processing, and radioactive waste management.

With approximately 400 publications including 6 textbooks, his Scopus profile shows an h-index of 25 (195 publications, 3,639 citations as of February 2021). His research group maintains active collaborations across nuclear physics subfields, particularly in experimental verification of exotic nuclear structures.
