Igor Tsukrov

Igor Tsukrov is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of New Hampshire, with a dual appointment at the Center for Ocean Renewable Energy and Center for Sustainable Seafood Systems. He directs the UNH Computational Mechanics Laboratory and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in computational mechanics, composite materials, and finite element analysis.

His research focuses on micromechanics of composite materials, fracture mechanics, and computational modeling applied to marine aquaculture systems and ocean renewable energy installations. Recent publications analyze elastic properties of carbon-black/UHMWPE nanocomposites, offshore aquaculture structure dynamics, and surrogate models for particulate composites. His work spans modeling of marine systems, residual stress analysis in 3D woven composites, and fatigue behavior of advanced materials, with applications in offshore energy and sustainable seafood systems.

As director of the Computational Mechanics Laboratory, he leads research on structural behavior of offshore systems, material processing effects on mechanical properties, and numerical validation of composite manufacturing processes. His teaching includes Dynamics, Mechanics of Composite Materials, and Advanced Finite Element Analysis.
