Igor Mella Nuñez

Igor Mella Nuñez is a Permanent Labor Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics (Area of Theory and History of Education) within the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). He is affiliated with the ESCULCA research group (Competitive Reference Group) and contributes to teaching innovation through the PAIDEIA and Alén-ApS groups at USC.

His research focuses on service-learning, higher education, and skills development, with applications in global citizenship, youth employability, and social transformation. Projects include regional studies on non-formal education in Galicia and EU-funded Erasmus+ initiatives for wildfire management training and migrant inclusion.

Scientific contributions include 18 peer-reviewed articles, 12 book chapters, and a monograph published by Octaedro. He has presented over 40 papers at national and international congresses and participated in organizing four International Congresses.
