Igor Gornyi

Igor Gornyi is a Principal Investigator and Group Leader at the Institute of Nanotechnology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. He leads research in the areas of disorder and correlations in quantum transport, as well as theoretical aspects of graphene and related carbon nanostructures, within the Research Unit of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics.

His research focuses on understanding fundamental quantum phenomena in disordered and low-dimensional electronic systems, particularly in novel carbon-based materials. Key interests include electron-electron interactions, localization effects, many-body physics, and transport anomalies in graphene and nanotubes.

The theoretical work conducted by Dr. Gornyi contributes to the broader field of quantum materials and nanoelectronics, aiming to uncover new physical mechanisms that govern electron behavior at the nanoscale.

Dr. Gornyi is actively involved in theoretical research and leads a dedicated group at KIT, contributing to the scientific mission of the Institute of Nanotechnology.
