Igor Eberhard

Igor Eberhard is a Lecturer at the University of Vienna's Institute for Cultural and Social Anthropology within the Faculty of Social Sciences. He serves as Project Manager for 'Ethnographic Data Archiving' and manages the institute's ethnographic collection.

His research spans skin studies, tattoo anthropology, crime and deviance, with particular focus on medical historical perspectives and museology. Recent investigations explore criminalization discourses around tattoos and ethnographical data preservation methodologies.

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on dermatological anthropology and cultural representations of body modifications, with recent works analyzing medical risks and historical stigmatization of tattoos.
